I teach Ashtanga/Vinyasa Yoga, which is a strong physical cardio vascular style. It is a mix of Ashtanga asanas (postures/poses) as well as the slower and the gentler Yin Yoga within the practice. This mix of yoga is based on the Hatha principles and creates great strength in the upper body, legs, lower back and the core.

Yin Yoga is a slower form of yoga where asanas are held for longer periods. It assists in balancing and relaxing the nervous system and muscles thus allowing the connective tissue a chance to release tension and toxins from the joints.

I have experienced over the years that with a mix of strength practice and Yin yoga, the yoga practitioner gains great confidence and also instils a sense of balance within themselves. The Dynamic Yoga that I teach has proved extremely popular as clients quickly feel and see the benefits of regularly practicing such sequences in a controlled environment with an experienced teacher, like myself. Whether I am teaching private classes or within a group class setting, I am able to personalise and adapt all asanas to a level appropriate to each person’s age, level of physical fitness, knowledge of yoga or injury. I have worked with clients of all nationalities, specially tailoring the classes to meet their specific needs including ante and post-natal yoga as well as yoga to assist with injury and sports training. In addition to offering asana (physical) classes, I am also qualified to teach breathing techniques for relaxation.

My primary Ashtanga yoga teachers are Sheshadri and Harish in Mysore, India. I have worked with Jeff and Harmony Litchy, Prem Carlisie and Petri Raissanen. Each teacher offers me a different prospective of Ashtanga, which I feel gives me a rounded knowledge of the Ashtanga practice.
My daily yoga practice is Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, which I have a deep love and respect for as I delve deeper and deeper within myself through the practice.
